Set prices based on profit, not guesswork
When you know how much profit a sale should earn, work backwards to its price. This calculator allows a percentage commission and a fixed transaction fee. It assumes the price shown is the amount you collect from the buyer before these fees, with no separately charged shipping.
Required price = (all product costs + fixed fee + target profit) ÷ (1 − fee percentage). For example, $45 in combined costs, $20 desired profit and a 10% commission gives a minimum price of about $72.22 before any fixed fee.
What counts as a cost?
Include the purchase or production cost, shipping paid by you, packaging, and other expenses you expect per order. Shipping your customer pays separately is not modeled on this tool; use the resale calculator for separate shipping charges.
Important considerations
This is a price floor based on your assumptions, not a recommendation about what buyers will pay. Taxes, tiered fees, refunds, advertising, currency exchange, and marketplace-specific rules may change the final outcome. The calculation is most useful when your product costs and fee rate are reliable.
What if the fee is 100%?
There is no finite price that can leave the desired profit if a marketplace keeps the entire sales amount. The calculator warns you about rates of 100% or higher.
